Technical Artist

The Thundermark team is looking for a Technical Artist who has a passion for creating high-quality content for our projects. In this role, you will be part of a team that develops or supports the game's engine.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with artists and developers to integrate art assets into the game engine (Unity);
  • Configure game-ready prefabs and create VFX assets required for the game(s);
  • Identify and develop art-pipeline optimizations and tools for new and existing production workflows;
  • Create technical benchmarks to be used in production, implement optimizations and monitor the performance of the game;
  • Cooperate and support other programmers and be a part of a multidisciplinary team;
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve the game(s) performance;
  • Offer technical support to the art team in day-by-day production issues;
  • Create and maintain technical documentation;
  • Share with the other artists and programmers best practices and new tools.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a digital art content creation pipeline, ideally in the video game industry;
  • Significant experience with Unity 3D and understanding of mobile platforms’ strengths and limitations;
  • Strong skills and experience in software development in Unity 3D and C#;
  • Knowledge of 3D asset creation pipeline;
  • Knowledge and Interest in the following tech-art areas: Shading, VFX/Particles, Scripting, Lighting, Rendering and Post-Effects, SFX, Rigging, Physics;
  • Experience with profiling tools (Profiler, Frame Debugger, Memory Profiler);
  • Experience with shaders (Shader Lab, Shader Graph, Amplify Shader Editor, HLSL);
  • Experience with VFX creation using Particle System;
  • Experience with UGUI integration;
  • Experience with different Unity render pipelines (HDRP/URP);
  • Experience with version control systems;
  • Knowledge of additional tools (Blender, Photoshop);
  • Passion for games;
  • Ability to read and write technical documentation;
  • Good technical English.

Would be a plus:

  • Worked on mobile/AR/PC/AAA projects.
